WEST BRANDYWINE, PA — Freedom Village at Brandywine’s Village Players, a group of residents who come together to rehearse and perform live plays, recently premiered their third musical, “Way Out West in a Dress,” under Directors and Producers Fran and Maggie Doyle, who are also residents of Freedom Village.

“Village Players is a fantastic opportunity for residents looking to get involved in our community and for other residents to enjoy the results of our work,” said Maggie Doyle.

“What I love about this organization is that anyone can be a part of it. Most residents who audition and partake in the shows have little to no prior experience, but every member, new or seasoned, has a wonderful time participating,” said Fran Doyle.

“I very much enjoyed performing with the Village Players during the ‘Way out West in a Dress’ musical,” said Ben LaGarde, a resident of Freedom Village. “This was the first time I’ve been in a play, and once I got over being nervous, it was a blast. My favorite part was seeing the smiles and laughter our group brought to our friends and fellow residents. I look forward to doing it again!”

Village Players do not charge for tickets. They accept donations, however, and split them up evenly between the Freedom Village Scholarship Fund and the Freedom Village Outreach Fund, which they are both heavily involved in. The “Way out West in a Dress” performance raised $3,600 that will be split between the two funds.
